Many great phones came out in 2015, about which you can read more HERE. But what about phones in 2016? Here’s a list of top 5 upcoming phones in 2016. These specs are generated by leaks and rumors, and may not be 100% true… They ARE rumors.
- iPhone 7
The iPhone 6S was a huge success for Apple. And Apple mustn’t disappoint with the upcoming iPhone 7. What to expect? Of course, more power! According to rumors, it might have 2 physical CPUs, like the Galaxy S6 has. It will most likely be a powerful A10 processor, alongside a M10 co-processor, all that coupled with 2 GB of RAM. As far screen size is considered, Apple will most likely do the same thing again – make a plus version of the iPhone 7. The base model could be 4.7 inches, and the plus model 5.5 inches. 3D touch will certainly be there, and maybe have even more options.
- LG G5
LG so far hasn’t bothered with premium designs and materials on their phone, like Samsung or Apple does. But that doesn’t mean that their phones are bad, no. In fact, the LG G4 does everything right. It even has expandable storage and a removable battery, which is awesome. I hope that the LG G5 will be the same. Rumored specs: 5.3 or 5.6 inch QHD screen, 3 GB or RAM and a Snapdragon 820. And don’t forget the expendable storage.
- Sony Xperia Z6
Sony’s Z series are absolutely awesome – top specs, awesome camera, beautiful design… But the Z6 specs are a bit of a mishmash. There might be 5 versions of the Z6: standard Z6 with a 5.2 inch, Z6 compact with a 4.6 inch screen, an even smaller 4-inch Z6 Mini, Z6 Plus with a 5.8-inch screen and a massive 6.4-inch Z6 Ultra. All of these phones might be powered with a Snapdragon 820, while the Mini might be powered by the Snapdragon 620. Some of these screens might be 1080p, QHD, or maybe even 4k.
- Samsung Galaxy S7
Perhaps the most anticipated phone of 2016. According to rumors, what CPU you will get depends on where you live. Exynos 7422 for India, Snapdragon 820 for China and US, and Exynos 8890 for Korea, Japan and Europe. But, the 820 is apparently suffering from overheating, and Samsung is working to fix that. There are so many rumors about the CPU that Samsung may use, I can’t cover them all. Since Samsung is “under pressure” from the public, they may include expandable storage. There are even rumors of Samsung Galaxy S7 premium with dual-lens camera and a 4k display. More rumors indicate Force Touch technology for the S7, and the rumors go on and on…
- Project Ara
With Project Ara, you will build a flagship with your own specs. All the parts are changeable, so you will be able to change the parts at your will – camera, battery, speaker… Project Ara has been around for a while, since we heard about it for the first time in 2013, under the name “PhoneBlocks”. There’s a chance that Ara will launch this year, but the problem is that no one wants to produce components. And Project Ara could spell disaster to some phone manufacturers, since YOU can make your own phone.
