Motorola Moto Z3 has just been announced – and it supports 5G!
More about the 5G thing in a moment. Motorola finally showed off their Moto Z3, their latest flagship and a replacement for the previous one, the Moto Z2 Force.
The Motorola Moto Z3 looks quite a lot like the previous phones from Motorola, keeping the same design language. Up front is a 6.01-inch display that uses Super AMOLED technology, and a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080. It is more than enough. The screen is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. However, there is one unusual thing. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 835, something you would not expect from a modern flagship. Most modern flagship phones are powered by the Snapdragon 845. You have 4GB of RAM to play with and 64GB of onboard storage, with a microSD card slot for adding up to 2TB of storage. To keep the party going, you have a 3,000mAh battery, and Motorola claims it will be enough to get you through a day. Fast charging is also a thing, since the Motorola Moto Z3 supports TurboPower, and according to Motorola, it can charge for up to 8 hours of use in just 15 minutes.
At the camera compartment, the Motorola Moto Z3 rocks two cameras at the back. Both of them are 12 MP. The main sensor has a f/1.7 aperture, with features like Dual Autofocus Pixel. It will also have an 8MP front-facing selfie camera with a f/2.0 wide-angle lens.
For the OS, you have Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Android P is expected to launch relatively soon, and it is expected that the phone will support it.
Motorola Moto Z3 – 5G?
To be precise, the phone does not support 5G out of the box. If you want 5G when it becomes a thing, you will have to get a Moto Mod, which is an add-on accessory and it attaches to the back of the phone. There are other Moto Mods, too. Some of them give you better battery life, better sound, better cameras etc…
Did you know a Hatsune Miku phone is a thing?
So as you might have noticed, the phone is nothing that will blow your socks off. However, it does have a price that matches. The Moto Z3 will launch in the US as an exclusive with Verizon Wireless on August 16. It will cost $20 a month for 24 months on Verizon’s payment plan, which means that it will have a total price of just $480. In addition, for a limited time, people who purchase a Moto Z3 can buy any Moto Mod that’s normally priced above $100 for just $50.
